Man it would be much easier to count how many times I shot at other boats while fishing for muskies.

Over 200 lakes; we used to fish 2 a day when we were in our 'exploration' mode in the US and Canada. Lost count a long time ago on the total.

I'm not sure how many waters I've caught muskies in. I would have to go back and look on that one. But my best estimate on musky waters fished is in the 80 to 90 range over the past 20+ years. Only another 200 or so on my wish list!

Ummm, just 1 lake for me. Unless I can count up the different basins we fish! I guess I'm a snob...I don't want to fish for them anywhere but LOTW.

I even feel kinda guilty putting my boat in the Rainy River from the MN side to try for sturgeon a few times each spring. HAHA

Pretty cool to see some of the high numbers of lakes you guys have fished. Impressive!

Again, Deafdude gets his first but I'll share with everyone.

Justin, saw the PM and I don't know Rainy. Suggest you do a search and then after reading results post a question or three about where and when you are fishing. There is always someone here who has been there, and you'll get your best tips via PM's. The trick is to ask nice and be humble, which it appears you are well on your way being.

I'm the humblest mf on this site, good guy.

Four in Iowa, 5 in Canada, 3 in Wisconsin and 9 in Minnesota.... and oh so very close so many times on one in Illinois. Love to say I've caught one on every lake I fished but if that were true the list would be bigger.

This is something that I discussed the first year or two I musky fished with my buddy. I said that someday, I'd like to be able to say that I caught a musky from 100 different bodies of water (lakes/rivers). He laughed at me and said "yeah right, that will never happen." I need to update the list, but I think I'm around 40 by now and that's in about 5 years of fishing...so I sure hope I'll be able to get to 100.
(I would gladly take 100 50's out of 1 lake than anything out of 100 lakes though!)

I did a quick list and came up with 8 lakes from WI and 1 (LOTW) in Canada. Luckily I hope to head to MN and add a lake or two to the list this summer. Just made me realize I really haven't fished muskies in all that many lakes yet.

This one is a tuffy (pun intended - HA!). I couldn't answer this accurately, but would ball park it in the 30's for lakes and 1 river... Guess I'm more of a homebody for the duration of the season and usually key in on a couple dynamic lakes on trips for duration of the trip, returning to that water body year after year. That said, I LOVE exploring new water, in particular I love exploring little 300 acre or less puddles in the Northwoods:)

I have caught muskies in two different lakes with the same name in the same state in the same week. I haven't kept track of total number of lakes, but it's probably pushing 50.

I would like to give a number but it would only be a guess, so I won't....I don't even know how many different lakes I've tried....A few years ago I was on a new lake pattern that I would usually catch a fish the first day I tried the lake....so I tried many...it was nice....now I try to fish maybe 2-4 new waters every year....too many favorites now...and I have been focusing on Green Bay more....I have the hunt for big fish problem now...even in Vilas. I think this year I will actually make it back to LOTW...I'm excited, that is my favorite place I have ever fished.

I would not know where to start to try the count thing. My maps and lake notes are in 5 different rooms. If I had the getty up I'd put all the infro into the computer and have flash drives available . But back in the log days I sometimes had 2 pages on a spot on a spot. I would hate to have to go through all of that stuff...so I had boys, they will no doubt be able to toss it without attachment.

Being at this for 20+ years, I certainly lost count of not only the muskies caught, but also the lakes I caught them in. A ballpark guess would be 20 lakes in 8 different US states and Ontario CA.

"Ranger" means traveler. I guess. Here's a patched hole (on the side of my boat) created by friction from a fabric tie-down strap. Lotsa miles, lotsa miles.

Cheap boat, extra gas money.
