e-mail from Jeff:

Unfortunately, the 1st Annual Minnetonka Muskie Classic has to be canceled due to high water conditions. The Hennepin County Sheriff has placed a 600 foot “no-wake” zone over the entire lake. It is very disappointing that the event needs to be canceled but feel that it is the only credible course of action with the welfare of the fish, participant satisfaction, and possible lake shore destruction all taken into account. Our main area of concern is the extended amount of time it may take to get a judge boat to a fish for witnessing, due to the no wake zone. Our #1 concern is the welfare of the fish and we could with no good conscience go forward with the tournament under these conditions.

All tournament teams have been notified and we are following up with those teams to get their entry fees returned to them in a timely manner. For those that were interested in being a judge boat, we thank you and hope we are able to use your services for next years Minnetonka Muskie Classic. If you have any questions or need anything please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

Jeff Olson

Where can you find out about this New No wake on the entire lake?
I see no postings anywhere on the lake that indicate this? even at the launch areas.

Is this in effect for the rest of the year?

Does this man you cannot even use your trolling motor to get closer to shore?
Trying to understand what they are really getting at.

Thanks
