| Recently a M.F. Outing in New York was held...unfortunately Capt. Larry ended up paying 1,025.74 out of pocket to ensure a great time was had by all. Although this was not a money making project, that much jack can suck a wallet inside out!
My proposition here is that perhaps all of us here that enjoy these type things, regardless of whether we attended the event or not, help out + chip in some $$$ for the good Capt...I dare say had he been paid for his time, he could retire from this one event alone...all we need now is an address for which to send some $$$ to help out someone who sacrificed personally to ensure a top notch get together for all involved...I trust Capt. Larry to let us know when the out of pocket amount is reached! If 51.5 peeps send in $20.00 apiece, that should cover it(I think)..so lets get rolling![:sun:]

| Wow! Larry said he was out some money; I had no idea it was that much. Mr Cady has spent a fair amount out of his pocket also, (as have I) building the events. I can assure you the future events will do MUCH better, as the word is out now as to how much fun is had by all!
There were some hats left over, MuskieFIRST will buy those to offset some of the costs there.
There were some who last winter/spring had accused Captain Larry of intending to pocket some money from the event. This should clear that up for good![:blackeye:] |

| Found his address! Posted it in the original at top...none of you guys should have to spend that much out of pocket, especially when the Outing prices are already such a bargain. This I do know, what we do in any given situation will either help or haunt us in time! [:0]

| Cady you said TIME? This stuff doesnt take TIME does it? And yes, we all hear the smallest violin being played for all of us.
Larry if there is ANYTHING me and the rest of the crew can do to defer costs/time spent for the next event you plan please don't hesitate to ask! One thing that the people (lets say 99% I encountered) of the muskie world have shown as of late is an incredible amount of generosity when the community works together. I heard the outting went INCREDIBLY WELL, and if there are detractors and naysers and those who would throw stones, just remember they will always be on the outside looking in.

| I'm realy moved that others would step up to the plate to try to help someone recover out of pocket funds.But I went forward with the MuskieFIRST Chautauqua Lake Outing knowing that I would most likely end up in the red.MuskieFIRST Staff didn't ask me to run this Outing or to setup Dinners etc.,I decieded to do this on my own.After I setup the Dinners and Prizes I knew that it would be hard to sell out the Outing the first year,especialy starting so late,most new tournaments don't do well the first year.But to me it was totaly worth the loss of funds to establish and help get off the ground the Chautauqua Lake Musky Hunters Club.They will be the keepers of the Lake and will make sure that things are done to the best interest for us all that fish there.Then we also got to give back something to the waters that we used for the three days of the Outing,by paying for baitfish to feed the musky fry at the Pendergast Hatchery.Now that I have first hand knowledge of running such an event and the costs associated in doing so,next years will be cost efective.I for one had a great time running this Outing and plan to do so again next year.If anyone would like to send money please save it and use it to enter next years MuskieFIRST Chautauqua Lake Outing,look for signup details in early December.

| I would like to say,what a great bunch of people we have here on MuskieFIRST.com!Even after telling people that I accepted my losses at the Chautauqua Lake MuskieFIRST Outing and even expected it to be in the red,people still sent checks.14 checks have reached my door,12 of those are from people that I have never met and they never even fished in the Outing either.I'm almost without words,thanks a lot guy's!
