This April ill be going down to Clear Lake in Iowa with some buddies. We fished it last year in May and it was extremely tough. What are some things you look for when fishing early in the spring? Do you downsize your baits? Depths? Any advice would be great. Thanks

Read Spencer Berman's article in the most recent MH magazine. He talks about the difference between "winter" and "pre-spawn" fishing. I'm not sure which stage they would be in at that time down there. Anyways, I just read the article last night and thought it was pretty good and it addresses all of your questions. Go buy it!
