Location: Michigan | I am considering the St. Croix PM86HF rated 2-6 ounces. Would be throwing cranks, bucktails, dawgs, possibly mag dawgs.
Anyone have a chance to use this rod yet?
Thanks! |

Location: Smith Creek | Haven't used it but played with one side by side with a TM86HF, SLIGHTLY softer than the Legend (or slower) and SLIGHTLY heavier in weight(11 to 10.2). If it performs on the water like the Legend mag dawgs through 1 oz. bucktails would be no problem. |

Bought that same rod in the 8'0 last summer.
I could not believe how perfect it was for double tens, eights, and bigger top waters like the Super Top Raider, also Jakes, Depth Raiders and Dawgs---not pounders.
They did not have the 8'6 in stock yet or I would have bought it.
This year I am going to buy either the 8'6 Premier or the 9'0 Legend Big Nasty.
Premiers are really under-rated rods in my opinion. The 8'0 is just a tad short for a long day of figure eights off the casting deck. |

| is this rod somewhat comparable to the slingblade then? Does anyone know if St. Croix plans on making a 9' premier/mojo anytime soon? that would be sweet |

| I'm not sure what Croix plans to do with their mojo series but the rod you are talking about should be perfect for bucks 10's and even 13's all the way through mag dawgs. I have a 8'6pmxhf and it is a very solid rod, but I think that the heavy will actually be better for blades and cranks than the xh that I use. |

Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | I bought it this fall for big Spinnerbaits and Double 10's. I think I have only put about 10 hours into fishing this rod and 2 fish....but I really like it so far. It loads up nice nicely in the 8 on blades. |
