I like Legends and the 11" 700 Crane. A friend had two Hookers bust lips on him so I hesitate to go there. How about Big Fork's 12"? I'd like other recommendations for large (10"+) deep (20'+) straight or jointed trollers?
Thanks...Scott

The ones I've personally used have been 10" Slammer and TI 11" Mag Shads. The slammer has huge head shaking action to it but is kind of limited on how much speed it can take. The Mag Shads are tough lures if you're worried about breaking the lip. I've hit bottom in 25' FOW without putting out a ton of line. Plus I pounded the crap out of them over the rocks on Vermilion without breaking a lip or getting out of tune. Pretty solid bait and not a lot of money for that size of lure. Which is why I don't shy away from running them tight to rocks. Hate losing/breaking $30+ lures.

Both the bent lip and Twitcher 11" Mag Shads go to 20'+. The bent lip goes to 21' with 100' line out and the Twitcher will go to 23' with 100' line out. Both have a completely different action.

i will definitely second the hoosier handamde 9 inch shad as well. i think he is currently working on some other styles too. hard to go wrong with a hoosier anytime. the body shape of the 9 inch shad crank is perfect, and unique, for the fish that see the same body styles over and over it is a good option.

My 10" Switchback has a 1/4" lip and gets down. Captain Larry was telling me this weekend he gets 32' with 120' of line (leadcore). Myself I was getting 10' with 33' of line. It has weight inserts that you could add more weight like on my HardHead.

The Hose Flat Shads are the ticket, hand made, awesome paint jobs, heavy duty aluminum lips, these things are Bullet Proof, and they get 17ft on 60ft of line.

Also try Talonz lures: http://www.fishall-lures.com/deepthreat.html

Got a few of Mike's lures at the MI show. WOW is all I can say!!! If lures are made in heaven then these must be them Pictures do not do these justice.

I think www.bigwoodmuskylures.com has some of the Talonz lures too.

Third for the hoosier handmade. One year out and a lot of big fish were caught on it. That knocking rattle that knocks when it goes from side to side is awesome and the lure blows out every now and then when you get it to the right speed. Solid baits and great paintjobs too.

The Mag Shad is a big deep running crankbait that is built tuff. Here's one that I have been crashing in the rocks and has held up nicely. Only down side is it pulls harder than you would think.

in my little experience of trolling, 10" Franky Baits get get it done, consistently, when you want to troll deep..fast or slow.
