Here is the statement from the owner:

"My heartfelt thanks to all board of advisors, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, attendees and contractors of America's Outdoor Show. I regret to inform you that I will not be producing a 2012 show. While I had an unforgettable time revitalizing the largest and longest running sportshow in Chicagoland... it's not show friends... it's show business. While my financial return over the last two years has been substandard, the positive memories have exceeded expectations by far! Two final requests: Support the All Canada, the Chicago Boat Show, and the Chicago Muskie Show with your patronage; and Be wary of any individuals/companies that claim to have been associated with America's Outdoor Show who solicit your business in any way. I have not, nor will not distribute your information to any third party. Thank you for your business and for the opportunity to have worked with you. My wife, daughter and I wish you and your families good health and continued success in all your endeavors!"

Thanks for the Memories,

Jim Sugarman,
sole owner America's Outdoor Show

Yes, it just got over a week ago or so. Lot's of people Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The best seminar speakers since back in the day. It was getting back to the way it used to be. It's really too bad, it'll be missed.

It was the best show I have ever done hands down. Hopefully whoever buys it is as dedicated as Jim was.

I agree with Spencer.
It was the best show I had ever attended as well and I've been to more than my fair share of Sport Fishing trade shows across the country.
Keep in mind that as with the lure and tackle manufacturers, guides, resort owners, Charter Captains and Show promoters and producers and everyone else in the Sport Fishing Industry, this is how we make (or attempt to make) our living.
As Jim plainly stated, "it's not show friends.....it's show business"
The bottom line is did we make a profit?
Can we cover cost?
Will we have seed money to start another production?

The Michigan Muskie Show, at 27,000 sq. ft. was tiny compared to the America's Outdoor Show and I cannot comprehend the amount of work and dedication that it would take to produce a show of that scale and magnitude.

Again, I send my best wishes to Jim and his family for their future and Thank them for all the sacrifices they made in order to produce such a great show.
You will be missed.

Sad to hear, I think it was headed in the right direction. Attendance had to be up; I guess just not enough.

As a show promoter I my heart goes out. However with the Michigan Show planning on moving to one week before the Ohio Show. Vendors aren't going to make the long drive two weeks in a row. The 2012 Ohio Show will be moving to the last weekend in January 27th 28th and 29th. New location to be announced at the show awesome facilty . But lets not move two fast. The Ohio Muskies Show is two weeks away and is stacked with lots of new stuff and postioned to grow in years to come.....
