Who do you recommend? Seems like shipping my reels is the only option, but honestly I don't feel comfortable doing this. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I just got my reel back from PikeMaster today and am very pleased with the price, timeliness and service. I'd recommend him.

Pikemaster (Richard Schmitz) from this site is Reputable, Quick, reasonable, always willing to help people, always available on Email, P.M. on this site, or by phone. Highly recommended.

Pikemaster on this site. Sent my reels to him this year for the first time. Could not have been happier.

X3 for Pikemaster! You won't find a better repairman than Richard who will do his professional best for you and not screw you.

Have you tried to search locally? There are little mom and pop shops everywhere. However, I do all my own reel maintenance. It is very easy. There are only so many parts and where they go all makes sense IMO. Some reels are harder than others, but there isn't many differences. I get a little nervous with spinning reels but baitcasters are pretty darn simple.

I agree, Pikemaster has worked on many of my reels for repairs and upgrades.
Send him a PM.

Another option is Dave's Reel Repair, North Chicago Suburbs. Mark, Dave's son, now runs the business and does very good work. He too is on this site...I think as DRR.

Huge positive vote for Dave's Reel Repair. He is now my guy after less positive experiences with many of the others mentioned. Fast, acccurate service that accomplished exactly what I was hoping it would.
