One low forties in the net. Lost two smalls, and saw two others. Water was low and had a tough time launching, thought they were running through, but instead they were refilling(better condition), but adding water at a rate that the bouys were bobbing upstream in Bull Run Creek. 18 inches down and probably refilled 5 inches in about 5 hours. Good plume up into BRC, 1/4 mile below landing came into upper 40's, 50's in the basin, mid 60's hothole. Water conditions too clear. More trout in the hothole than in some hatchery raceways.

Beat the bad snow back, but driving through it 10 minutes after starting home.

First trip since early Dec. That crappy MN weather has been setting down on the country like a laying hen on a clutch.

It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. Unfortunately, I was my own idiot caster today, jobs open.

Duh?
Where did you think we were gonna go when you were too busy working at the Dixie Stampede? Your memory is going out on you quicker than you thought, Stan...

A Bigger DDDUUUHHHH for me FSF. You are absolutely right. I have been 38 for 30 years now and have been staying way to busy for my age. I do remember now that we were going to try to go out but Dixie kept me too busy along with my painting. I left Dixie and am working a standard 40 hours a week now at a gas station just down from where I live. So how about another try at it?
If I can know a week in advance I can switch days off and go ( much better Boss now ) I will also TAKE the time off of painting to go. The wife has been after me to slow down for some time now but I am afraid if I do I will get very old and crippled up too fast.
Name it and we will do it. Would really look forward to it now for sure.

Well Stan, Glad you are getting some time off. I usually invite people a couple of times they suggest they would like to go, and if that doesn't work out I just cross them off as not serious fisherman. I will put you back on the serious list.

I have sent you a PM, and I am thinking we can get out there, and no telling how many we can catch in a row. Dat Doug Johnson from up to nort, sometimes dat guy coudn't catch a one, but I'm pretty sure you'll fill the boat every time, and since "paw" aint comin down this winter, you and I will get to fish the "chair hole", and the "blue barrel"...all by ourselves, I'll even take you to "Area 51".

It's been a cold two months down here. The normal high in Lexington(hour north) is around 40 at this time, and we have rarely hit that since early December.

Serious eh? Hmmm.........seems like I was waiting on a phone call my last two trips north.

Maybe next fall?

This one is serious for sure. And thanks for putting me back on the list. Area 51 ? HHMMMM sounds like a good place to throw some new patterns that the fish haven't seen as yet. I returned your PM. Keep an eye on the Weather like you suggested, I'm ready.

Still snappin, fished yesterday. Water color, too clear, and filling again. Nearly full when I quit. Weather front occluded in TN and the changes in the aft kept them active I guess. Thought I was too late. Keeping it real however, I see somebody caught another big fish in the hothole on Thursday, somewhat bigger than my biggest, but just by pounds and inches...

Water down here is still chilly as no warm water is being produced. The longer that plant stays off, the more fish get to stay in the lake.
