Location: WV | Im wanting to make my own jerkbait leaders. what size and brand wire do i need? Do i need one of those net craft tools or just a pair of the round pliers. im just wanting to run split rings and just using for my gliders. help me get started thanks. |

Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | Round nose pliers and 174# wire is what I use. American Fishing Wire is the brand , I think. I make them around 6"-8" for gliders and WTD lures. Good luck. |

Location: South East Wisconsin | I make em 174# 12" in length. A round nose helps but you don't need it. A vise, pliers and nail will get the job done. |

| I'm not sure if they are still available but the "bench top" wire twister that Netcraft sold works great. My dad built tons of them with it, and in fact I noticed that he still has the twister, so I'm going to break it out again and start saving some money. He also used the same twister to build some bucktails at home too.
