Anybody make jerkbaits or glide baits out of cedar? I've tried before a few years ago when I was just starting out making baits and it seemed like it wasn't worth the effort to add as much weight as needed. So if anybody has any experiences with it I'd like to hear what has worked and what hasn't. Thanks!

Hi,
I too have tried, but it takes a lot of weight for cedar and even basswood to get them to sink. I make mine out of maple, ash and until recently, Lyptus. Lyptus is great, but Woodcraft stopped getting it.

I know that some people have had good success with cedar, but I just couldn't seem to get everything right.

Good luck,
Greg
