Ok-i just got an airbrush and a compressor. I need some help on what type of paint to use and how thin it needs to be for painting baits. I am running a master g22 airbrush with a wide range of operating pressure. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
I use Createx which are water based paints. Many on here use them. I very seldom have to thin them, but there are circumstances where you may need to. Some of it depends on your airbrush. Typically 30 PSI should be sufficient. Have you been trying the acrylic paints that you find at Walmart / Hobby Lobby? If so, those are much thicker and would probably require them to be thinned some what.

Thanks,
Greg

Don't want to sound like a smart-ass, but you need to experiment....ALOT.
When I got my fir gun I was ready to paint the town....#*^@, I still got it. But you must experiment and find out what works best you to get your desired results.
Experimenting is actually fun, and it will help you to get familiar with your brush.

Thanks to all that replied. Has anyone used Testors Enamel for painting lures? I am looking at that type of paint so far, and I was curious if anyone had tried it.
