Like spending all of your time acting superior to others on message boards? Your life must be awesome!!

I couldn't ask for a better life. I'm sorry you are so unhappy.

Back to the original question.... I would give it up if I caught the world record, and no amount of money would stop me before that.

i wouldn't ever quit musky fishing, but if BenR or Pointer would accept cash to never post here again I'd hold a fundraiser

I'm all for that.

I'd give up Muskies for 8 digits.

Fingers or toes? A mix of both?

I'd give it up to play golf with my daughter. Wait...I think I did.

I'd give it up for a bunch of money and then still do it anyway. I could get way into flyfishing for other species (tarpon would be sweet). Giving up any of my hobbies is pretty much not going to happen.

Through the guiding, tournaments, seminars, living and traveling all over the best muskie waters in the world I have met some really great friends. I still fish them from time to time, but I still post because I have really good friends in the community that I really like interacting with. Also M1st/Steve has always been really good to me, either through allowing me to be part of the Tuffy pro-team when I was more involved or hospitality when I was visiting the area. It is social and a nice forum to stay in touch with friends...but yes I have found that for me there are more appealing ways to enjoy the outdoors. BR

Middle six figures at least. Dreaming all day, every day, about fishing musky is the only way I make it thru a long Minnesota winter

As long as I am able, I'll fish muskies. I make my living in that trade, and wouldn't give it up for any amount, or I would have...long ago.

It would have to be enough to move to a shack on Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories. And never have to work again. Seriously, bring up the NW Territories on Google maps, makes MN look like the Sahara Desert.

Wouldn't take that much for me. My best days on the water last season involved stealhead, and the second walleye. I love the outdoors, and have experienced many fun outdoor activities such as scuba diving, bowhunting, rifle hunting, skiing, mountainbiking, golf, and the list goes on. But when i do something I prefere to do it only if it offere the best possible experiance within my budget.

So, living in SE michigan gives me access to a quality muskie fishery with the opportunity for big fish. If I had to drive more the 2 hours to access it, i would probably find something else to do closer to home. Muskie fishing would then fit in the vacation category. I don't ski in SE michigan, because there is no appeal to sliding down a land fill. If I lived out in Montana, i would flyfish and hunt elk, and ski. The quality of those activities out in Montana are far superior to anything michigan has to offer. I don't live out there, so those activities are a vacation. In short, i am kinda in the "go big or go home" camp.

The best thing about muskie fishing for me looking back over the last 10 years is the friends i have made. Almost everyone i associate with outside of my dayjob are muskie fisherman, and they are good people. So fo now, muskie fishing is a fun outdoor activity that i get to do with my freinds...

North America is part of the world, and since my experience has included more than one country and 4-5 time zones, it seemed to fit. Also when say you North America, people only think of the USA:) Thanks, BR

Ben's correct, North America also includes Mexico. No muskies there, but that would be a place I could spend some time fishing giant largemouth bass and shooting giant whitetail deer.

FSF,
OK, you got me, all I do is work. If I fish, I DO fish muskies, but not enough in 2010. Gotta fix that for 2011. Ice fishing starting tomorrow for about 15 days to shoot Frabill, Jiffy, Aqua-Vu, Lindy, and Fishouflage sponsored videos...tough job, but someone gots ta do it. Wait till you see the cool stuff I am shooting with now...

A one time, non-taxable amount of 1.5 million.....My address is 13325....... I prefer $100. dollar bills.
Thank you very much.

Jerome

Shark fishing here I come!

For the record, an individual cannot gift more than $1 million during life without paying "gift tax." It's called the lifetime exclusion. He could however pay the remaining $500k in $13,000 annual increments. That is called the annual exclusion gift.

ever consider that having an understanding of all the fishes, where they are and how to catch them might have a positive effect on your muskie-fishing skills? or are you one of the type-A chuck and wind crowd who runs a nice Ranger?

Wouldn't take much for me either---Many many types of fishing to do with all the other outdoor stuff like hunting, camping. hiking and many motorized sports I enjoy. I love to fish for Musky's but I could stop easily and take some CASH and do something else.
