I recently received news that I have a scheduled interview for a position I applied for in Milwaukee.

Green Bay immediately came to my mind. I am not a troller, so my question is:

Are there guys who cast on Green Bay and produce fish?

The same question stands for Pewaukee Lake.

Thanks guys.

Casting is very productive on Pewaukee.

Good luck getting any good, usable info on Green Bay on this or any website. People have wised up and most are pretty tight lipped. If you are talking about the Green Bay section near the mouth of the Fox river, I believe most people and guides troll the majority of time.

You can definitely cast on Pewaukee spring, summer, and fall. Yes it is known for an exceptional trolling bite in the summer, however plenty of fish are caught casting.

Okauchee and Oconomowoc are other choices as well and both give up fish casting.

I know that at least Radloff gets fish casting on GB every year especially spring and summer. I'm not sure how much trolling he does, but you can definitely get fish casting on GB as well.

I live on Pewaukee and fish the Bay two or three times a year.

Two totally different bodies of water. Pewaukee is more of a numbers lake and you can catch fish both trolling and casting. Different times of the year will necessitate different techniques, though. As a newcomer to the lake, you will find spots easily and Smokey's Muskie Shop is a great spot to get information. Dealing with the boat traffic, though, is something you will have to get used to.

All the fishing I've done on Green Bay has been trolling. I only got up there twice this year, but caught fish on both trips. GB isn't what it once was and trolling for 9 hours covering the same water isn't that much fun. But the payoff is huge because you have a legitimate shot at a 50 every time on that water. I know that there is a casting bite in the river at certain times, but I've never hit it right.

Good luck on your interview. Milwaukee has a lot to offer anglers. If you want some fun, take a look at fishing the harbor for trout year round. They aren't muskies, but they are certainly fun!

Casting on Green Bay can be done with good results. I personally haven't done the best doing this but have seen and lost fish out there. It takes a lot of time to find spots as the body of water is very large. If a person puts in the time and does some searching they can be rewarded by casting. I know a few that have and done very well. About being tight lipped yes the casters have been. It has been a chance to get away from the crowds of trolling. Best advice was from a couple people that have done well along with Dennis Radlohf is to take one area at a time and work it and get to know it before bouncing around. Good luck

The majority of musky fishing I do on Green Bay from the opener through summer is casting. Trolling is by far the best option in fall, but fish still can be caught casting. Earlier in the season fish can be found in shallow water and on the expansive weedbeds throughout the bay. Knowing where and what to look for is the trick. Most guys including myself are very tight lipped on this subject. But if you hire me me for a day out there I can show you some pretty cool stuff. I hold nothing back on guide trips.
