Looking at taking summer family vacation in Boulder Jct or Presque Isle area. looking for recomendations on cabins/resorts that has decent fishing-(musky/smallmouth), good size, clean lake, and good for tubing/swimming for kids. Bringing boat so good docking also. Also if allow shorter stays than a full week in summer. Thanks

It is about 15 miles from Boulder, but Bents Camp is a great place on the Cisco Chain. You can get to shallow turbid lakes or deep clear lakes. I think 13 lakes in all can be fished. Great docks with gas and a bait hut at the resort. Also a gret swimming beach if youngsters are coming up.

All prevelant fish are available. Musky, northern, Largemouth bass. smallmouth, perch, crappie, bluegill. Many good guides (some legendary) in the area if you are looking for help sorting out the water at teh onset of your trip.

Good Luck

Agree with Mark, the Cisco Chain is a great place to spend time, and Bents does it right.

Also a very under-fished and scenic waterway.

Just throwing out another place Fishtrap Resort is a nice place to stay. No smallies but plenty of muskies. largemouth, walleye and crappie are good though, pike too. It's close to boulder junction.

The Muskiefirst Presque Isle outing was held at Sky View. Great food, accommodations, and smack dab in the middle of great fishing. Adam always took great care of us, and the Prime Rib, and Grasshoppers are top notch!!!

Anglers Isle is a nice place on the Cisco chain near Boulder. The Island sleeps a boat load of people if you need it. Huge dock that regularly produces nice 'skis and walleyes. Your only a 2 minute boat ride from Bents (great place also).

I was up on the Cisco Chain last year for the opener. We stayed at a friend's cabin 2-3 miles away from Bent's and trailered the boats there every day to use the landing. So, I can not speak for the cabins themselves but the people at the bait shop and around there were awesome. Bent's also has a nice fish cleaning house that you can use to prepare a nice ski filet dinner. Haha, not really... but the Cisco chain does have some of the best panfishing too. We panfished just a couple of hours a day and came home with enough for a few good meals. I can still remember how good those filets tasted rolled in a little shore lunch.

Wildcat Lodge on Wildcat Lake is pretty nice.

www.wildcatlodge.net

Lake has a lot of muskies in it, but the common size will be smaller, 34-40 inch fish. Pretty good walleye lake, good smallies and very good crappies. Lake is smaller with a lot of islands and bays to fish, so you can always duck out of the wind.
