I just bought a new Elite 5 and wondering how this summer has been with anyone else who has one. I've never had a real good sonar unit and I am really excited about it. Of course its winter now so I have the ice transducer for it too. Any thoughts?

I used this unit a few days this past summer with a buddy and I was impressed. For the money, I don't think you could go wrong.

Totally agree! Havent actually used it but I do work at a retail store and I do know electronics. Great mapping and sonar ! The two things you need for great boat control and fish catching ability. I like the price on the unit and the reality is that you can not get side imaging for it and all the other jazz you can get for the HDS units...not a big deal. I do not really care for using the micro sd because I have gigantic hands but what do you do? You will like it!!!

very nice unit, i have been playing with it for a few weeks now and it is very easy to use seems to have all the options the bigger units had in years past with fewer buttons, but the price and ease make it a very nice choice.
Yes , Small cards.

Yes, the Elite series uses the MicroSD mapping cards.

Thanks guys. I'm just loving playing around with it so far. I like all the different colors you can use for the sonar, and the mapping is a huge thing for me for fishing at night especially. There are lakes that I don't fish at night cause there are so many rocks to run into but now I don't fear it. Time for the night bite! Too bad the ice sucks on all the lakes.

i bought the mark 5 for the bow cause i was in a bind and needed a flasher for a weekend trip cause mine on the bow gave up the ghost... it seems very sensitive even though i think i have it dumbed down enough.
