Next school year im going up to WITC college for marine mechanics in ashland, wisconsin. I know my favorite lake (lake namakagon) is in the area, but what other good musky lakes are the area?

I've had some memorable quality moments on the Pike Lake Chain. Iron County is a bit of a drive but some of its lakes fished well for me back in the mid-90's. And some of the 28" minimum lakes were fun back in the late 90's.

The WI DNR has a book that lists all of the Wisconsin lakes and the species in each lake by county. Contact them and ask for one. Otherwise it would take some time but go on the DNR website looking for lake maps by county and click on each map in the Ashland area and most maps will have a chart for species in that lake.

Gile, Pike Chain, Eau Claire Chain, Mineral, English, and big pike in the Bay if you know where to look. You may put muskie fishing on hold for a few years and concentrate on steelhead. More opportunities. The muskies will still be around when you're done with school. Or you could find a pretty Native to marry and fish the Bad River.

Go to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources web page. Find Wisconsin Musky Lakes by County. Search the desired County and there will be a list of waters that have Musky in them.
