Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | I have a couple in progress here,,,i am still learning my new airbrush and trying to get the pressure settings down right and making the paint flow the way i want. Otherwise, i am full of ideas and am having fun just getting started. Attachments ---------------- bigmama.jpg (64KB - 121 downloads) bigmama2.jpg (84KB - 114 downloads)

Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | what pressures are you guys running your guns at,,,i have an iwata cr dual action.. i should add that i am running unreduced creatix. i got a little crazy with the pearl silver on the top one and kinda took away the scaling effect i was going for but it still looks cool. Posts: 615 Location: Madison, WI | Kodiak, Very nice, keep up the good work. I like your color combos. What are you using for the fine scales in the last three? Makes a cool effect.! MS

Posts: 615 Location: Madison, WI | Kodiak, I reduce my createx (Its all i use) with a home brew of water, denatured alcohol, windex, and glycerol. The color depends on how much but usually 33-50% and I shoot at a pressure around 35 psi. I've never been able to shoot straight createx through my brush. All my work has been done with a $10 HF airbrush, although I have 2 new nice brushes I plan to break out over the holidays to break in the new shop!!

Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | ok here is the pic..finally.... i have some plastic stuff with little holes in it that i found in my wifes scrapbooking stuff.... I used to reduce it with the exact homebrew you described...we used to use that in art class. i can shoot straight with the iwata, i have been running down around 25 psi with this last bait. I can control the fine effects better at the lower pressure. thanks for the complements...even though you are a badger fan...lol.. Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | i had a killer leopard frog done but when i was doing the outlines of the spots the white just splattered like a texture gun and screwed it all up.... sucked..... now i am working on a pike that is coming along pretty good...i need advise how to get the gun dialed in so i can do some detail work...i can reduce the paint but should the pressure be higher for detail work or lower..? i would love to do more crazy new age stuff but i dont know if that stuff catches fish..i know it catches the eye though.. Posts: 110 | Lowest pressure that the paint will still flow well and remove the tip guard on the airbrush should help.
