I have tried many different glues and nothing seems to hold up. Some won't even glue the two parts together at all. Any suggestions for repairing soft plastics?

Mend it and like glues are expensive and have mixed results and take a long time to cure. Take a cigarette lighter and let the two pieces liquify a bit and stick em'. Give it a dip in the water to speed up the drying process and your ready to go in less than a minute.

Here is a video I did a few years ago on using a lighter on a SuperD.

PS-I also have 6 color packs of tails for reg, Mag and MegaD swimbaits and they work on all major brands of plastisol baits if you have some lures with missing tails. They can be found on my website at the bottom of each of my SuperD pages.

Nice way to mix and match tail colors to bodies too. Also try that lure pain from lure craft online. That plastisol paint will really stick to plastisol rubber and you can tip your tails with it.

A little mend it goes a long way, the draw back is it takes a while to dry. It works best after drying for about 12 hours or more. I like to put the lure on a board dap a little mend it on both pieces and pin the two pieces together. For tears simply dab a little in the cut and let it dry.
Torching works well and is more economical.
I save my trashed plastics and use them as a hot glue stick to beef up the repaired area.

PVC Glue from MENARD'S $2-$3 works as good as Mend-it and is 1/2 the cost !!!!!!
Small butane torch is the best !!!!!!!!!
