Location: north central wisconsin | Greetings,
Just a quick note. The Consolidated Musky Club, Inc. will be conducting part two of our fall 2010 Musky stocking tomorrow morning at 8AM at the Jim Freeman Memorial landing on the Wisconsin River in Nekoosa WI. 100 Wisconsin strain fingerlings were stocked two weeks ago on another stretch as part one of the project. 350 yearling Leech Lake strain fish ranging from 16" to 20" will be dye marked, PIT tagged, and stocked tomorrow morning.
This stocking will be dedicated to Jim Freeman, the second of that nature at the landing named after him this year. Todd Forcier, conducted the first installment of the memorial Musky stocking a few weeks ago, with funding from his tournament.
For those that did not know Jim, he helped put Nekoosa on the map in the early 1990's with 'Walleye Days', bringing tourism here that the town of Nekoosa has come to enjoy and rely on each spring. His work and dedication through managing Freemans bait and tackle along with work within the community, local government and sportsmens organizations, helped open many doors for local outdoorsmen and women alike. We will dedicate this stocking and any future stocking that takes place at this landing, in Jims name.
I'd like to personally thank to all who helped fund raise for this event, and also to Wood and Adams County for helping us allocate some of the WIDNR Conservation Aids funding to our conservation projects this year.
