Posts: 203 Location: Alexandria, Minnesota | Hi my name is Dave Williamson. I first realized I was a musky holic 10 years ago. Everytime I think I've kicked my habit, It relapses and keeps getting progressively worse. Sometimes, I wonder what it would feel like to put my feet on dry land.

Posts: 8781 | Hi, my name is Jeff and I've been muskie fishing for 7 years... If I added up the money I've spent on lures, tackle, guide fees, fishing trips, cold weather gear, etc. I could probably buy a new Ranger. If I included money I spent on waterfront property in Vilas County, so I could be in a place with lots of muskies? Well... I could buy my girlfriend a really nice engagement ring, pay for a wedding, take her to Hawaii for two weeks, and then I could go to a realtor, find us a really nice house, and pay for it outright... And I'd probably have enough left over for furniture. Honey, if you're reading this? Well, I really DO love you more than I love those stupid green fish. Honest, I do! Just because I have more pictures of me with fish than I do with you? It means nothing, seriously. Really, they meant nothing to me! I just had some fun with them and sent them on their way. I know I remember where and when I caught them, and the lure I caught them on and how big they all were, and I still can't seem to remember your birthday. But they were just fish. Just fish. I can quit them at any time! Hey, if you're going to be an addict, you might just as well be a champion at it.

Posts: 426 Location: Perryville, MO | Hi Chris, I, too, am afflicted. When deterents keep me from getting the fix I really need, I settle for things of far less potency (bass, bluegill, crappie, trout, and even catfish)!I've found that it helps to keep a lure with me at all times. It's comforting. Is a bulldawg necklace really that strange? Seriously, people put holes in the noses, ears, and places that I won't mention. I leave them alone. So why must I endure so much pointing and staring? Random jerks while I daydream of setting a hook is my buisness, not theirs.

Posts: 1057 Location: Medford, WI | Sooo... Here's the last post my girlfriend put on my facebook: "You fish and I go to school. It's what we do." Here's a comment one of my students made when I gave them a survey after student teaching for a quarter: ?: "What did you not like/enjoy about when Mr. Bucki was teaching?" Response: "Don't talk about musky fishing all the time." Here's what I do if I'm not: A. Fishing or B. Visiting my girlfriend...editing footage of fishing. Some people take the newspaper, sports magazines,or other reading material to the can with them...my bathroom is filled with Musky Hunters, E.A.'s, and lake maps. The past two years I have not known where I was going to live during the 9 months I was/am at college until about two weeks before I moved in; but I knew about 6 months ahead of time where I would be living for my summers in Vilas/Oneida. One of the bigger "fights" I've had with my girlfriend is my refusal to set my profile picture to one with the two of us in it in replacement of myself and a much larger, fatter girl...a 52 incher to be exact. The list is endless and it will always continue... -Jake Bucki
