Posts: 252 | I recently caught and released this 40 inch muskie in Green River lake and while I was bringing it in, it jumped into my boat. first time that has ever happened to me. My wife caught it on video. Does this kind of thing happen very often? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0miapTkGHHE

My nephew had a 44" jump in the boat this fall on the Chippewa flowage. Ours actually pendulumed is that a word , ran under the boat must have jumped and put himself in the boat. Usually things go bad the other way, now you can say they were biting so good they were jumping in the boat. Very Cool.

Location: 31 | I've had 2 muskies jump in the boat in 30 years, so I'm guessing it's a pretty rare thing for most people. On July 27, 1989 I had a 38" jump in the boat while executing a figure 8. It was too weird because it never touched a hook... it kept getting progressively more excited as I kept pouring on the speed and the next thing I know it was bouncing off of my windshield. All I can really remember after that was trying to get the thing back in the water ASAP before it hurt itself any more. I can remember the date because it was on my birthday.

He pulled the lure out and was ready to make another cast when he heard a commotion. He looked down to see a ~36" muskie flopping on top of his tackle box. It flopped a couple times, then jumped back into the water. The thing must've followed his lure into the boat. He didn't know there was a ski following on his 8, and it decided it wanted it really badly!

Posts: 132 Location: Missouri | Almost had a 47" incher jump in the boat this year. Barely missed coming in, then he was netted. Amazing watching big fish fly out of the water trying to shake a lure.

Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | I've had one jump in the boat about 10 or so years ago. The fish ate in the outside turn of the 8, then proceeded to go airborne right into the front of the boat with a granny bait tboned in it's yap. It went nuts for a few seconds until I horsed it over the side of the boat and back in the drink to tire it out a bit more and net it. The crazy thing is, I had just dropped my partner for the day off. If he had been in the boat, that thing would have landed right at his feet. Would have been a bit more interesting.

You lost a rod, watch behind the guy in the video as his rod goes in the lake. If you have been looking for it, I know where it's at.

Posts: 252 | Yeah, I just barely saved the rod. It hung up for a minute on the front of the boat, or I would have lost it.

Posts: 162 Location: Bemidji, MN | happened to a guy i was fishing with once, about a 40" or so he had hooked on a bucktail. It decided to come straight at the boat and go airborne. I had to jump out of the way of it. His boat doesn't have carpet, so it landed on the floor and started sliding all over going crazy. Stuff flying everywhere. It was actually pretty scary.
