Posts: 15 | Hello! I am really interested in the Okuma Evx Musky Rods (the telescopic models) and the new Tackle Industries models (also the telescopic models). Unfortunately there is no shop in Germany (or in Europe) where I could by one of the rods. Is there a shop in the USA that is able to ship the rods (7' 6" closed length) to Germany (of course for reasonable costs )? I know that Tacklewarehouse ships long 1-piece rods for about 40 $ to Europe, but they don't offer Musky rods. Sebastian

Look up the folks that sell the rod you want. Call them, and ask. If they want to make the sale, and you'll cover the cost, they'll do it.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Musky rods to Europe is hard. DHL and FedEx are about $180-$200 for shipping. Two options: 1) Find a retailer in Europe that has a lot of tackle from the USA and ask them to special order you one. Many use consolidators that ship Ocean containers and this way you can get a rod for very cheap with shipping. 2) If you know someone coming over to the USA have the retailer ship a rod to the hotel and have your buddy bring it back on the flight home. Most airlines are about $50-$80 for extra baggage including long rod tubes. 3) Buy 30+ rods from me and I bet I can get them to you in an ocean container for about $15-$20/rod shipped plus the rod costs… Bet you can sell them on the eBay-European version. Posts: 501 Location: Norway | Ive ordered rods from US for a long time and it seems to depend on the shop. Rollie and Helen will ship, dont remember what the cost was, but I think it was in the range that James mention. But a few years back I ordered 5 St Croix Rods from a tackleshop in NY, and I paid $75 in shipping. And it seems that it doesnt matter if there are 1 or 3 or 5 rods, its the tube that costs to ship. So maybe you should team up, or order many rods yourself, that way 150-200 isnt to hard to justify. The shop in NY only carries St Croix Rods, btw. Michael

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Let me know if you find out how they shipped. The longer 90 inch plus rods are a "bear" to ship. I have checked with about every shipping company (USPS, DHL, FedEx, etc) and all are high or do not ship long items. I wonder if they had an import/export company ship them???

Posts: 501 Location: Norway | If I remember correctly they came with DHL and there were rods up to 7'6". And they came in a large cardboard tube and it was about the same if I got 1 or 5 rods, and it became a little bit more costly for 5+ rods. I know this shop ships a lot to Europe, maybe they have som deals or something, I dont know. Michael

Posts: 469 Location: MN | Pikopath - 10/6/2010 11:41 AM fish307.com good guys, fast service. Michael Just called them and asked for shipping quote for 2 St Croix Musky rods: PM80HF & PM86XHF. They ship by UPS and the cheapest price to Germany was about 250$ Same price range as Musky Shop and many others stores. I ship rods to post Soviet Union countries( Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, etc) for 75-100 (up to 3rods in PVC tubes, including custom service, door-to-door) via local courier company. Unfortunately, they don't ship to Europe.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Called DHL: 5 rods, 15lbs 90"x6"x3" package was $236. That would be 5 rods to Norway. James

Posts: 469 Location: MN | Michael It's been a while, since your last order. The gas price is significantly higher then in 2005. Another thing is tax in Europe. I know they charge a lot over there now. The rod price after shipping and tax will be golden.
