The Live Auction for Ashton raised over $3000 last night between 7 and 11:30 PM Central Time during a four and a half hour bidding marathon.

Over 100 anglers and friends of Ashton bid often and high for bait, guide, and Muskie equipment items Steve Cady and Andrew Golden put together from the MANY donations we received. Slamr worked tirelessly for weeks soliciting donations working in tandem with the venerable Thick One to make the 8/20/2002 auction in the MuskieFIRST chat room a total success!!

Thanks go out to all, including Chris for maintaining our servers for flawless performance during the event, and Zach for designing the framework here at OutdoorsFIRST.

Slamr is tirelessly listing items on the soon to come week long SILENT auction posted on the Auction for Ashton Message Board. Many items to be auctioned there are so valuable or cool we feel there should be an opportunity for EVERYONE to look them over and bid them up over a weeklong period. Watch for it!

Thanks again to everyone![8)]

That's awsome Steve!!!! Good job guys working hard for an adminable cause: helping children (and future muskie fishermen). I hope we get at least another $3000 in the auction. I'll just have to intercept the creditcard bill before the wife sees it next month [:p]

Great job everyone. I got in late, and wish I had bid on that first item. I will be looking at some of the week long packages. The bidding at the end was fun to watch.

Great job!!!! SLAMR!! and THICK ONE!![]

I could not be there last night, but I heard it was very well run. Thank you for all that attended and donated to this great childrens fund.

Slamr, many folks in the past have thought that you had a bad side, crazy and somewhat out there.....Well this goes to show you, when a kind man with a good heart puts his mind to it, good over comes evil.[]

Thanks![:p]

Great job Slamr and Cady, whata night. I didn't get there till late but managed to spend some $$$$$ and drive the bidding up a bit. Some of that stuff was really great and I just could not quite out bid those guys. Oh well wait till next time. I am allready saving my $$$$ for the next auction. What a blast to be a part of this.

I wish I was able to partake in the auction, but was unable to break free long enough at work. Great job everyone on bidding towards such an excellent charity.

Slamr did a great job as did Mr. Cady as usuall. It was fun. I was hoping that since Spongey wasnt around in the early going to ramp up the bidding to astronomical proportions, i could slide in and grab something again with the "budget" i was put on. I am glad to see $3000.00 was raised. By the way, sponge, what did you end up getting? What ever it was, Ashton was the benefactor which is what it is all about.

The Series H.R...not sure what I'll do w/ it yet. I too had a limit + wasn't able to stay on for the whole thing...I checked in on/off + blew me budget on the 1 item above! I'm just glad the $$$ is going for a good cause...there will be more I'm sure. Wish I had the jack to drive up the bids but a job change w/in the office left me w/out the usual blow money, but I got TIME, and you can't buy that! [:sun:]

Sounds like a similar situation. I left my Cop job to be with my son more and dont regret it a bit!!! You cant buy the early years back.

Congratulations on the success of the Auction, especially to Slamr. I know how hard you have worked on this for weeks and weeks. Now everyone has been privileged to see the side of you that you seldom share. My thoughts and prayers are with Ashton's family, they have a wonderful group of people behind them.

I was glad to be a part of it. I can't wait to get my tinsel tails and eddie topwater. Some great deals to be had last nite on soome stuff, some lures went cheap and that beckman was a steal.

Your thanks aren't needed, it really feels good to not only do something for a good charity, but to do it among so many great and giving people. Thanks to Sworrall for the direction in the course, and to Team Ashton (Doc, Jimmy_K, Esox 14, Schuler) for doing so much of the grunt work...they pointed me to whom to call, and since no one was saying no, I had the easy part. And thanks the most to Jenny, I love you baby, without you helping me out with this, we never would be where we at with the earnings so far, and where the Ashton Fund will be come 2 weeks from now......................which brings us to Phase II....the Silent Auction!!! Jim_K and I are opening up (just check each post to see if it says THIS IS LOCKED or THIS IS OPEN FOR BIDDING) and locking down (manually) the posts on the Auction Site....should be done by noon tomorrow....and will post and post to all the board to bring'em in from near and far to the auction....AND going to get a mass emailing out to everyone, if you get it, pass it on, if you dont get it by Friday night, email me, and I will pass it on to YOU, and then you can pass it on.....Thanks again to everyone!
