I was reading through some older posts and for favorite baits these 3 were mentioned in quit a few threads. I love throwing top water and don't have any of these 3 in my arsenal. I'll probably end up getting them soon enough, but for the hunters that already own them, what can you tell me about them as far as hooking percentage, action, sound, what color you like, success and big versions -vs- the smaller versions.
It will be interesting to hear the comments on the battle of the baits.

I use both the Pacemaker and the Top Raider

Plop Plop
Tink Tink
Two different lures I think

For those of you who remember the 70's

I prefer the musky buster lures, whether it be the humper or the tsunami.

Water Chopper HD. The drop down hook is key to getting side hitting fish. Much better hook-up rate and most fish are caught in the corner of the mouth by the drop hook. It gets it away from the body of the lure. Tougher to work in weeds that are on the surface because of that hook. This is based on comparison to the top raider, which I also use in weedier areas. Haven't used the pacemaker however I like the large profile.

Are the Pacemakers wood, or plastic? Drop a TapDancer in your list and I'll vote.

whopper plopper spins well and pretty fast without rolling over. Also has a unique "plop" that has triggered some strikes for me. Overall I have produced the most fish/strikes/follows on topraiders. Buddy of mine does really well on Lowriders by Musky Buster.

Not a TopRaider fan myself, but I think there are times when the fish are keyed into one type of sound. Sometimes it's a bubble sound (TopRaider, Chopper, Headbanger), other times it's a slower ticking like a Pacemaker. And then there's Globes, etc. Good idea to have a mix of those lures and try a few different sounds. That said, I throw an old wood Pacemaker almost all season.
