Posts: 129 Location: North Metro - Twin Cities | Mike’s Bait owner Rich Robinson called me with the results. Thick fog then clouds held on to almost 1 pm making favorable muskie conditions on what had been predicated as a pretty hot sunny day. Recent cooler temps and lots of rain dropped water temperatures to a slightly more fish friendly mid to upper 70’s as 36 boats headed out to challenge Forest Lake’s plentiful muskie population. Most teams had chances with a number of sub legal 30-inch class fish boated but 6 teams managed to land 7-legal fish. First place honors went to Mark Kuether & Eric Nelson with 40” and 42” fish landed. Mark and Eric said they boated both fish on Cowgirls. Two 47” fish took second and third place spots with the earlier caught fish getting the higher place. Cowgirls or double models accounted for just about all the legal fish according to the teams. Best of all, every fish released was kept in the water as long as possible until measured and swam away in good shape according to the judge boats. . 1st Place – Mark Kuether & Eric Nelson 40” & 42”. 2nd Place – Ryan Tollefson and Tom Hennessy 47” (caught around 7am) 3rd Place – Justin Lein & Justin Frazier 47” (caught around 12:30) 4th Place – Pat Sibbald & Colleen Sibbald 44 ½ 5th Place – Chris Taylor & Kevin Dawson 44” 6th Place – Adam Templin & Mike Yrjo 43” Please shoot me a pm if we spelled your name incorrectly, the entry forms were very tough to read. | ||
