Posts: 1220 | I'm trying to change my family schedule around to make this event. The payouts seem to be more than generous, and I have enjoyed fishing in stuff these guys put on. Hope you get a big field. Marty Forman

Posts: 968 Location: N.FIB | not that I`m going to get in this, but was wondering if the 10 grand is the same 10 grand that you would win in the iron man,so if someone gets a 50 on leech which is quite possible the big fish pot in the iron man starts over, since it`s connected with the iron man series.

Posts: 81 | Tom always puts together a great tourney. Wish I could make it as the payouts are great and I'd bet we see someone collect a bonus 10K for that 50" fish. Looks like a good time put on by a man that really knows how to put on a good show. You most likely will have a full field. Good luck and happy hunting. Dew

Posts: 76 | Castings The $10,000 is done for each event. If a 50" is caught at Leech the money is still available for the Ironman tournaments. It would be great to pay this more than once this year. Leech has its fair share of 50's that is one of the reasons we chose the lake.

Posts: 76 | With this being the first year for the Elite I dont feel that we will have any full fields. However we feel Leech should have a good turnout. If you enjoy fishing tournaments the Elite series will be a fun events.

Posts: 76 | Wanted to throw out a special thanks to James at tackle Industries for even more support with the Elite series just received some additional door prizes for the people fishing the event. LOOKS LIKE HE ALSO INCLUDED A SPEACIAL PRIZE IF A TEAM WINS THE EVENT USING A TACKLE INDUSTRIES PRODUCT!!

Posts: 1220 | Sounds like Musky Dew can't make it...that might just allow somebody else to win....that guy is just too tough to beat....like a Superman!!!!

Posts: 81 | Junkman, your words are to kind. You know I can't catch a fish and the only reason I fish is because someone has to look good on the water. Good luck on Leech. It should be a great time and fishing should be GREAT. Edited by MuskyDew 7/15/2010 2:44 PM

Posts: 1220 | You know Dewey, now that I sit back and think about it, I see that you are right. It was the dazzling good looks, smooth West Virginia charm, and really impressive boat graphics that hypnotized me into assuming that you were also a really competent angler. I guess what you are saying is that good looks don't necessarily translate into muskies in the net. Armed with that information, I now am ready to fish with a whole new confidence, knowing that an often rejected mug like mine just might show up in a tournament photo someday. Marty

Posts: 37 Location: Coal City Illinois | Marty. You know Dewey was really talking about his new partner this year when he was talking about looking good on the water. There ain't another team on any of the cicuits that can claim they have a Santa look alike in the boat. That RED Ranger just sets off the White hair and Beard and the whole rig just beams with good cheer!!! The fish will be lining up soon to take their picture with Santa so look out boys we will be on the board soon! Doing everything I can to make it to this event.....may be in the Black and Red sled for this one. Denny

Posts: 1220 | You know Denny, I thank God for you guys every single morning. Usually, I find myself toward the end of a tournament all tired and beat out. Then I look at the young guys still tossing the heavy rubber, making perfect eights and I feel....well, a little like I am sort of shot. But then, I look over and see that big 620 with the two old guys and their oxygen hoses, and I think.....I got a lot more time to spend doing this! Marty

Posts: 81 | Junkman, I got your "old guy". And that ain't oxygen, it's a straw hooked up to a drum of 5 hour energy. I guess Denny and I will get started now that we have given you a head start. Dewey

Posts: 60 Location: Lake Minnetonka | We signed up the for the tournament and had boat problems that won't allow us to fish it. I talked to Tom and he was more than helpful in taking care of us. We also had a good talk about what their goals are for tournaments here in MN are, and all I have to say from a participant perspective is "He Gets It." We have fished alot of tournaments and tours and it is hard to find a tour that pays its participants 85% of their enrty fee back in winnings. We will definitely be fishing it next year. So if you can make it to this tournament next weekend I would highly recommend it! Edited by PostFrontal 7/30/2010 5:52 PM

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I got a report from a friend who lives up there this morning. He said that the field was somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 boats. No 50's, but one guy had one on, from what I heard. I also heard it took more than one to win it, I suspect the Elite Series guys will update us soon enough. I'm thinking Walker and Leech just ain't going to field 50 boats for a new circuit until the economy improves. Hartman and the MAC will be back up there, eventually. I bet the Elite Series will be, too.

Posts: 1220 | Just talked to Tom Rozek and he asked if I would post the names of the winners for him. He went from one remote area in MN to another one near the Chippewa Flowage where he is practicing for the PMTT to be held there this week, and his cell and internet service is not too good. He said the field of ten teams registered several fish with the winning team having a triple and the second place team having a double. Winners were Mike Crawford and Ron LaBrosse with the triple and 2nd place went to Gary Dew and Rick Cummings with the double. Tom promised a more detailed account when he gets near an internet provider. And, oh by the way, I had no cell service up there on the Chip either practicing two weeks ago, and I am going back up tomorrow with my brand new gadget called a "Sleek" cell phone booster that I bought online from a company called Wilson Electonics. I am not overly confident, but it is supposed to boost service with an external antennae that plugs into your 12 volt jack. We'll see! Marty Forman

Posts: 76 | Thanks to everyone that came out to fish the Elite Series on Leech Lake. This was a great group of anglers and it was fun running this event. We are planning on coming back to Leech Lake for a event next year. Everyone had a chance at $10,000 thanks to Recon Boats and Tooth Tamer Rods. Even though most of the teams caught fish none of them were able to close the deal on a fish over 50”. I did however hear of a few teams that almost walked away with $10,000. The 2 day event produced 8 fish with Ric Cummins and Gray Dew getting the biggest fish for the event a fat 46.5”. 1st place went to Mike Crawford and Ron LaBrosse with 44.5”, 39”, 36.75” at 120.25” 2nd place Ric Cummins and Gary Dew with 46.25 , 37.25 at 83.5” 3rd place Kory Kosek and Chris Case with 43.5” 4th place Jim doyal and Bill Kangas with 42.5” 5th place Scott Albrecht Paul Clyne with 39” We are looking forward to our next event that is going to be on the Fox Chain in Antioch IL the first weekend of October. We also welcome you to join us for the last 4 Ironman Musky Series events that are also in October. For more info please check out our sites elitemusky.com and ironmanmusky.com Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you in October. Tom Rozek
