I just wanted to let everyone know what a great time I had on the Collins River this past week. Only spent one day on the water as it was a family vacation, but Dwayne Hickey was awesome to spend the day with. We met at 5:30 AM as the morning bite was supposed to be better, and it was going to be extremely hot in the afternoon (95 w/85% himidity). Within the first 10 minutes had a low 40" nearly come out of the water for my brother-in-law. We only managed one fish (36-38") for the day before it got to hot, but saw around 10 fish with two being upper 40" class fish (Dwayne swears one was 50+). When it started to slow down, all I can say is that Mr. Hickey thinks out of the box when it comes to trying to get clients on fish. What a different way of fishing for those of us that reside up north. If you ever get the chance, I would highly recommend giving Dwayne a call. Rates are terrific and he knows that river like the back of his hand. I will definately go back.
