What are your best lures for getting into or over the slop?

Does anyone know if there is a lure out there that will WTD on the slop. I know there are a few spoon type lures with the single hook on top that will ride over that stuff but if anyone has one, how does it actually work? Didnt Bob Mehsikomer push one of those back in the day? Forget the name.

This is what I found for a weedless glider

The side to side action of walk the dog baits, just have a hard time getting through the thick stuff. If the bait does not catch weeds, the leader hardware probably will. If your looking specifically for jerkbaits, a dive and rise bait is a more conventional option for weeds. That being said, that link above points to a nice looking bait that may work great in the weeds as a glider! Have not tried one yet. Baits with a rounded nose like a Suick tend to push away the weeds.

You can rig soft plastics Texas style, so the hook is buried just under the plastic. Hippo Tackle has a 7 1/2 inch and WaterWolf Lures makes a 9 1/2" Paddletail hollow body that can be rigged any way you want. Pics included below.

Spinnerbaits are the other obvious option and usually my personal choice. The best one I have ever used for this is a very ugly, but very effective bait called the Turbo Toad. The short arm and single willow blade is common for weed spinnerbaits, but the thick frog body actually pushes weed stalks away from the single hooks by design. Brilliant!

The best slop bait I have ever used is the Renegade Bullfrog made by Mike Heath. It will go thru the thickest weeds and slop you can find. Mike redsigned and improved the old Sloppy Pig. You can go to my website and see a demo video. The link is http://www.illinoismuskies.com/tips.htm - go down about halfway and you will see a picture and link to a video. Pretty cool bait!!!!
Contact Mike Heath at (715) 266-4203 for more information.

Actually just ordered a renegade frog from Rollies this morning.......its what I was looking for. On the website it states that the bait is about 5 inches....does that include the rubber skirt or is that just the body? I was worried it might be a little small if that was the whole thing but I figured I give it a try anyways.
