| I just bought a Lowrance HDS-8 to put in the front of my boat, but there is no extra wires to tie into for power, and I do not feel comfortable splicing into any of the existing wires that are already being used. I was told by the place I bought it from that all I have to do is run some 12 guage stranded wire back to the battery to, put the 3 amp fuse in-line on the positive wire close to the battery. Does this sound right? It sounds simple, and in the installation guide from Lowrance that is what it looks like I have to do. It looks like the yellow, blue, orange, and green wires are for networkong, so I will not need to do anything with these, but what about the yellow Accessory Wake Up line wire that is with the positive and negative power wires, do I need to do anything with it? Anyone have any experience wiring these up that can offer advice? Thanks for the help.
