Justin, I would avoid sending it in to daiwa. I have buddies who have sent theirs in for the same problem and it was 1-2 months before they got there reel back. Mine went out yesterday and hopefully I can replace it by myself. Calling would be your best bet.

i just had another saltist go out. i am sending direclty to Cerritos, CA. last one i sent in i had a new one back in a week. hopefully samething for this one.

My clutch cam spring broke this past weekend. Pending any collateral damage when the spring pieces locked up the gears.... I'm hoping to quickly repair this myself before my week long trip in 2 weeks. Those that have done it... is it a simple replacement or should I just send it in and risk not having it for my trip?

I sent mine in 2.5 weeks ago and haven't gotten it back yet. If you can fix it yourself I'd say go for it.
