Posts: 36 | I bring so many lures with me on my Musky trips that the spinnerbaits are not getting in the rotation that much. I have a nice little collection of grinders that I didn't even make a cast with yet. Is a spinnerbait always a second or third choice lure or do some start off with them as their go to lure? Also will they get the females attention? Thanks, Tony

Posts: 51 | Depends on the conditions and location. When I'm in weeds I'll throw a grinder or rad dog pretty regularly. I don't care for colorado blade spinners because I like to run deeper. I picked up a 5 oz grinder that I'm pretty excited about.

Posts: 117 Location: Northwest Wisconsin | I generally start out with a spinnerbait on. I really like to slow roll them in the deep weeds. I have become partial to ghosttail spinnerbaits.

Location: Northern Wisconsin | I feel the same way, I have plenty of nice looking spinner baits but barely throw them.

Posts: 613 Location: big cove tannery pa | I have a few that i throw pretty regularly. Actually my voodoo tail spinnerbait is one of my top lures that i consider a goto lure. I fish alot of downed trees so they are a necessity.

Some guys sling blades and others dont, and I am not talking about bucktails.

I dont really have a "go to lure". It all depends on where I'm fishing and under what conditions. I have certain lures I like to throw under certain conditions, of which one of them a lot of the time is a spinner bait, but I dont really have "a" or a single "go to" bait that I reach for steady. Anyone who's stuck on a single style of bait and uses it as their first choice everywhere is really missing out on the big picture when it comes to lure selection. Spinner baits are a great and very versatile lure and deserve a their fair share of time in the water by every muskie fisherman. Cheers Mr.KIA
