| I have an Eagle Fishmark 480. It has worked fine for several years. During the past week it would suddenly start flashing 2.1 or 2.2 foot depths when I know that I was over 10-15 FOW. If I turned it on and off it would sometimes start working properly again. If I left it alone it would sometimes start working properly again on its own.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you remedy it. Do I need a new transducer or is it just a loose wire? I have the portable model.
Thanks. |

Location: Pittsburgh | Most probably bad transducer, try playing with cable while unit on to check for continuity. |

| I have the same problem with my newer Lowrance. Last week it was blinking 60ft when I was only in 7 feet or less of water. Called and talked to the Lowrance Tech and he said it was the transducer.
Checked the cable, everything looks fine....no kinks or pinches. Went out yesterday and like you...I was water over 35 feet and it was reading 1.2 or 1.4.
Then it would clear itself and would be working great....then back to 1.2 feet.
VERY frustrating since this unit was over 500 bucks and I have only had it for a little over a year and a half....so out of warranty.
Guess I'll have to break down and buy a new transducer...can't fish this way. Not very happy! |

| Be careful when buying a transducer. I bought a new one last year only to get it home & open it to find out it was used. I think some wiseguy bought a new one and took to old one back for a refund. The store was unaware and put the old used one on the rack. |
