Anyone fish Vermilion for the opener? We fished it hard for 13 hours yesterday and 4 hours today befor the rain chased us off. SLOW! We moved two high 30's-low 40's fish the whole time. Both fish were at the mouths of bays and followed in and bailed early.

V is a tough early season lake in my opinion. Your results are not unusual.

I don't know guys, West End has fish biting. My brother has pinned a 47 already this weekend, just got off the phone with him and in the last 10 minutes tonight (Sunday evening) he has just released a 43.5 and a 44 in the last 10 minutes. I would consider 3 already a decent bite, he is fishing weeds and bucktails.

They capped the night off on Sunday evening with a 53.25. About an hr after I got off the phone from the other two last night. Vermilion bite is fine I'll say again.

Looks like the Lake Bemidji bites isn't too bad either.

Early Vermilion bite is usually better on the west end probably due to more aquatic weeds. East end is very seldom any good until July even with an early spring.
Last year there was a decent bite on the west end for a couple of weeks and then it got quiet. East end didn't really pick up until August.
