Has anyone ever cut the trigger off there baitcasting rod ? I have a bad case of trigger finger and I tried using the fore grip for casting but I just can't seem to get the hang of it , it just feels odd to me . The only other option is to have surgery on the finger then I 'd be reduced to trolling for a while . Any suggestions ?

i cut the triggers off all of my rods last year for the same discomfort reason. it has worked fantastic for me. i used a dremel tool with a cutting wheel to hack off the majority of the trigger then used a sanding disc to get it smooth as silk. one of the better things i have done

I broke a trigger on a rod one time so I took out the Dremel and smoothed it down. It felt better than any rod I had in the boat without the trigger, yet I still have the triggers on all my other rods? If it is causing discomfort I would not hesitate to take them off.
