I see alot of great guys using sanding sealer, is it a must and what does it do. I'm quessing it must seal the bare wood to prevent water damage? Does it also make for a smoother overall finish. Thanks any help would be awsome.

sanding sealers penetrate wood pores. primers adhere better. it does give a smoother finish also.. remember pre-drill all holes and lip cuts. . hope this helps. we use sealers on every wooden lure we produce.
