| Is there a reel capable of pulling double 10's, at least some of the time, that is small enough for a woman to use comfortably? I'm trying to find a good reel for my girlfriend, kind of a general purpose reel, as she will probably only have one combo for the time being. It would be easy if she wasn't collecting doble 10's, but she is, and she really wants to be able to throw them. But all my reels are too big for her hands. Any suggestions other than getting a girlfriend with bigger hands?  |

Location: Hayward, WI | Even though I've never used one, the Revo Toro is the first thing that came to my mind. Or, for less money you could try a 250 sized Okuma with a Power Handle. It might fit her better than the 400 size most of us use, and with the power handle, should make pulling 10s pretty easy.

I watched Musky Hunter the other night and Steve Herbeck and Dan Herbeck from Andy Meyers lodge were both using Revo Toro's. I don't have large hands either and bought a Revo Toro winch for my 8' St.Croix just for throwing DCG's. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | I have a Revo Whinch in both the 50 and 60 and like the way it feels. If your girlfriend isnt going to be buring them I would lok at the Revo in the 5:4 to 1 gear ratio for her as it will handle a very god all around plus be abble to occasionally burn them. If you are looking for a good price on them or outher reels look I would look at www.tacklecorner.net They have some great prices on reels. I just wish I would have found them earlier than buying 3 of the revo's this year at ragular prices. |

Steve and Danny had just started using them last time I was up, and did have good things to say about them, but I'm still a bit concerned about durability. Any issues with the Revo? |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | ABU TORO 50 that reel comes with a power handle. I would go with 5.4:1 gears.
That reel is only 10oz so if you match it up with a good lite weight rod, your girlfriend will be able to fish all day. |

Location: MN | I'd check out the saltist 20 it's olny the size of an abu 5500. Last year when I used the toro 60 it kind of hurt my hand there oddly shaped. |

| The curado hurts after a short time throwing tens IMO. I love it for up to showgirls and jerks/smaller cranks though.
I'd have her hold a 300TE. Little narrower than the standard 400, but I think the components are mostly the same. Gears, drag etc..
Should be a solid reel if not too big..

| Assuming she is not already comfortable palming reels I would recommend teaching her to foregrip the rod. She will get a better hookset, get less fatigued, and on a cold day her hands will stay warmer. This will also open up a lot of reel options as well. |

awesome reel for the smaller blades and jerk and twitch baits, but 10's and bigger will do a number on a person with that reel. its just not made for them. it does pick up 28" and is just about backlash proof. |
