muskyone, your package arrived: THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!![8)] [:0] [] [:praise:]

ps: I heard those teddy baits are made from pressed wood. Is this one a full wooden one?

I beleive that this one is made of solid wood. Is the reel ok? How about the Manta? Catch you later.

the reel is great and bigger than the size you told me (namely a 6601AB, not a 5601AB but I love it!!). I just removed (on advise of a Finnsih friend who uses this reel too) the anti-backlash gizmo completely because it didn't stay shut (off-position) so there was always a breaking influence on the reel's spool. Now it looks like a regular 6501 C3 but it works smoother! Thanks again! I'll keep the parts of this gizmo in case the reel has a problem but Janne assured me that it works. It seems ok as well, the first few casts I made with it.

Thanks for the manta! That one glides really well. I had an orange tiger but now I have a sucker colored one too.

Thanks for letting me know about the teddy! Let me know when your stuff arrives. Shouldn't be long now. I wish I could see the epxression on your face when you open it! [;)]

ps: are those tom fudally reef hawgs? They look a lot different from the 8" black newer reef hawg I have (pointier nose, slimmer, they are lacquered with a thicker lacquer than mine). They look nice.

They are not the old lure made by Tom but they are approx ten years old. I epoxied them that is why they appear different than the new ones. I used a two part epoxy paint at the time. The coating is several years old. The reel in the box was supposed to be a 5601 I thought, the same as the one I have. But if you like it thats great. Seems to be a very good reel to me.

it's ok about the reel! I spooled it with nylon to about 1cm from the spool's edge and then filled the rest to about 2mm from the spool's edge with 50lbs power pro.

Gotta go! Got some lures to try today.[:)]

mike, what a reel! As smooth as can be! I caught 4 pike in three hours time, lost two (shook the spinnerbait while headshaking above the water) and missed one, all while wearing my lucky beavertail hat! Last year I had 8 fishless days in a row with no pike in Belgium to show for at the end of the season. Now I have 6 in three days (well, always 3-4 hours of fishing), lost 5.
