Sure most know about this, but Thorne Bros is having a sale on all of their summer fishing equipment. Some great deals on rods especially. If the wife hadn't laid down an ultimatum I would of bought a St Croix LT Big Dawg Split Grip for $70 off with free shipping. Hopefully I can live vicariously through someone else on here that can make the purchase.

Matt

Its only on summer fishing; online only. You have to go to checkout to see the discount. Sure seems very expensive on there shipping charges! Cabela's is allot cheaper on there shipping rates.

+1

I love their online selection but their astronomical shipping charges always deter me from ordering.

I guess I was more or less referring to their baits... not a rod purchase.
But otherwise, I would agree... the St. Croix is a good deal.

i was going to order 3 leaders from Rollie and helens, but the shipping charge was around $8 or something ridiculous like that and i thought that was a huge rip off and didnt order anything. seemed like a joke to me

You guys are missing a good deal if you are fussing about shipping.
Rod shipping is only $6 extra that I can see even when they aren't shipping for free, and right now they are shipping for free. Sounds like some good deals out there if you hop on them.

If you get something else, you probably have to bundle some purchase together to make the shipping more reasonable. Everyplace sticks you worse for shipping these days.

It depends on the rod. Mi makes 2 different series rods, they both use the same blanks but different hardware and number of eyes.
