| Just got back from Cass early this morning. Considering the weather we had, it was a pretty successful week.
After 6 years of beating on Cass for muskies, I got my first 50"er. Just a hair over....50 1/8" to be exact. Measured it 3 times to make sure it was official. Caught it the first full morning there in the bullrush. Brad got a 41 later that morning. Then the weather turned. Storms just about every day, wind advisories, upper 40's at night sleeping in a tent. What an adventure.
We ended up getting 4 muskies, 50, 43, 41, and one in the 30's that was dropped before it was measured. We did lose several fish during the week, including 3 sizable fish! Brad lost one boatside, and Mike lost one on a headshake at the same time one blew up on my Top Prey. Doubleheader would have been really nice. We really couldn't establish any patterns during the week.....I think the booze got in the way. We did manage some nice walleyes and perch for a massive fish fry.
We also could have kept any hospital busy! One gash from a 34" northern, cuts from muskies, two duck bites, one hangover puke on the boat, one bug bite that swelled a hand, and one seabird poop on a tent. |

| Hey Jim,
What a great fish!!! That must have been a blast to catch her up that shallow. I'm hoping to get my first 50" on Leech next week.

| Nice job Jim. I'm still waiting for my first 50" fish. Going up to Cass in a few weeks and I'll be looking for that fish you released.
Nice picture, was that a video camera in the background? Did someone video the fish being caught? |
