How is the musky fishing on Poygan, Winnecone and Butte Des Morts in early season? What are areas to try and things to look for to lead me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help,

John

If you're gonna fish on any of these lakes... your best shot at even a chance of a musky is going to be Poygan. They're in there, but this chain isn't really known for its musky fishing. Just my two cents... but maybe a few others will chime in.

I was looking at Poygan and Butte des Morts primarily. Possibly Winneconne. I am wondering what types of structure should I be looking to early season? Shallow bays, inlets/outlets, any vegetation, ...?

Thanks,

John

weed growth should be way ahead of the past couple years,
water temps are up there too, all things are lookin up for
good fishing. other than the wind that is going to pound it tomorrow!

primarilly look shallow, weedy bays n inlets are good,
sand or rock bars close to those areas are good as well.
like said, lots of water, few fish tho.
good piking to keep a guy interested while chasing the mighty rocket.

fish fast. figure8out.
