Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | I just installed a new 80# MK on the boat. All seemed fine in the driveway. When I put the boat in the water it only ran full power, no variable speed. Needless to say, I barely stayed in the boat when I first hit the pedal, while it was on the "0" setting. Is it the pedal for sure?? Or could it be something else? |

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hiya,
I wonder what would happen if you put the pedal on 10 and try it....not in the water, but you should be able to tell if it is going slow or not... With a potential thought that a part might somehow have been installed backwards maybe?
I know I had an older powerdrive that would kick into high after a bit of time. Ended up being the main board.
If it is new, I would take it back and try another one...

Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | I did try it in and out of the water, both on constant and momentary. Sliding the power up and down. Worked fine in the driveway not on the lake.
I would just take it back ,but Cabela's does'nt have any more in the whole nation. They could probably get one from Minn Kota but, it would take weeks. It's an 80# power drive v2. I think they will at least give me a pedal to try. I will stop by there later. |

Location: Ames, Iowa | I found that Minnkota in Mankato had the cheapest prices on footpedals. Mine went out (on off shorting). Just called em and a friend picked it up on the way north. Probly not the motor unit- they are so reliable. |
