| i have had sets that last for 4+ years. Gotta make sure you charge them after a day of use. also, over the winter i keep mine on an Optimate 3 charger. |

What I do is monitor the power level and try to run it way down before charging as it is my understanding that it is the charging that will shorten the life of the battery
i.e. the more you charge the shorter the life |

| Keeping your batteries charged extends the life. Leaving them in a drained state kills them faster. So charging is a good thing. However, you can damage them by overcharging them. That is why a good quality float charger is needed. Not those giant black things you found at Sears 15 years ago. |

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | If there's one thing this world could use it's a better power storage unit than the current batteries that are out there! I've gone to onboard chargers for my batteries and that seems to help allot. But regardless of care if you are on your trolling motor fishing you'll be getting new batteries every 3-5 years. My main boat is about dead on at 4 year replacement...and guess what this is the 4th year!! |
