| How Far do you Travel for Muskie fishing? Not your day trip but for your once or twice a year away from home trips
For me it's usually Eagle River, 350 miles, 6 hours

|
| My Muskie fishing trips this year.
2 times Madison to Hayward - 270 miles x 4 = 1080 miles
Once to Eagle River - 245 miles x 2 = 490 miles
Once to Shelbyville IL, this fall - 310 miles x 2 = 620
Grand Total = 2190 miles in travel this year.
Seems like a long ways to go to catch a fish.[]

| About 3 miles.
Can't get up north or to Canada like I use to so it's Pewaukee! |

| This year one trip of about 700 miles to The Cave from central WI. At least two trips a week ranging between 55-90 miles to fish the waters of Vilas or Oneida counties. One trip a week of 26 miles to my home lake. Can't figure out where all the miles on my truck are coming from[;)] [:p] [] |
|
| |
|
| So far; 4 trips to Vilas County and return from Green Bay area (roughly 400 miles per round trip). And I ain't finished yet either! [:)] [;)] [:p] [:praise:] |

| Slightly differant than most in that I fish some of the tourneys.
Starting point: Dresser WI
To Park Falls and Back Twice for tourneys once for pre fish
3 trips, 3 hours each way. 18 hours drive time
To Minocqua and back three times for tournaments, once to pre fish.
4 trips, 3.5 hours, each way. 28 hours drive time.
To Cass Lake MN, and back, twice for tournaments, once for pre fish and once this year for an "Ashton trip" with Cady & Greg M
4 trips, 4.5 hours each way. 36 hours drive time.
For those three lakes drive time this year will be: 82 hours total and remember that I drive very fast, LOL[:sun:] |

|
| Should have added this to my last post: total miles deducted on taxes for travel as a guide and tournament angler last year: 8,287........no wonder I need a new truck. |

|
| My "day trips" are long. Every weekend since the opener, 150 to 200 miles, one way. Sometimes, twice each weekend. I'm fortunate enough to have 3 day weekends, so it still leaves me time to get the honey-do's done. My Shell card balance each month is ***%%@++. |

| |
|
| I will often drive 2 hours for a day of fishing but have driven 3.5 for 2 day trips. |
|
| |
|
| Eagle River, also. About 12 hours, depending on Chicago traffic.
Daytrips to Cave Run.

| Since I live where everyone else wish they did my annual trips are 3.5 hours one way for a weekend here and there to numbers waters. The other 100 or so days on trophy waters are within 45 minutes of home. [:p] |
|
| |
|
| Annual round trip to Hayward area 24 hours -- 1600 miles[:blackeye:]
2 round trips to Webster Indiana area 12 hours -- 1300 miles[:((]
4.5 hour round trip each and every weekend -- 450 miles[:knockout:]

Actually catching a musky -- Priceless! [] |

| Is there any prize for the distance winner???[;)]
I flew 2,700 from Anchorage, AK to Minneapolis. Then in the next 8 days I fished 2 at Wabigoon, 2 1/2 at LOTW, 2 in Northern Wisconsin....about 1,200 miles driving. If you figure the flight both ways and the driving distance, a grand total of about 6,600 miles....yeehaw.

| No such thing as a once or twice a year trip here. Many weekend trips often can be 6-8 hours.
This year so far we've been on 19 different lakes, about 1/2 muskie waters, and been on the water 65 days.
We're trying to get in a trip to Leech,,, soon,, I hope. The motel f-150 has 229,000 miles,, are we nuts?? Maybe it's just me. [8)] |

|

For my day trips I am driving 3hrs 20min. Pewaukee is 2.5 hrs and silver is 1.5 hrs. No more illinois trips are planned. |
