Hi guys,

I am looking for a reel to burn double 10's really fast. The issue is that I am a left hand retrieve guy. I found this Saltiga reel and it brings in 35" per crank and does anyone have this reel or something like it? Does anyone have any other lefty reels that they would recommend? Any advice would be appreciated.

Try the Tekota from Shimano Available in Left Hand I am fairly certain, Very comparable to the Diawa Saltist . I am not up on the Saltiga Reel . Is it new?

I think the Saltiga is new and here is a link. One of the guys from Thorne Brothers said to look for some new reels from Avet but I have never purchased one of their reels? Are they durable? How is their service? Does anyone else have any other ideas?

I just picked up this reel yesterday (Saltiga SA30L) from Cabelas and I will get some braid on it soon. After that I will try and find some soft water to cast it and see how it works. My goal is to burn bucktails with it and I will post my thoughts ASAP.

The Saltiga isn't new, and within the Daiwa line, is comparable to the Trinidad by Shimano. Bulletproof.

I am hoping so because most of my other reels are Shimano and I hope Daiwa can live up to them. I am heading to Cave Run in a few weeks and I will see how it does.

I just found a small piece of water to throw some double tens with my new Daiwa Saltiga 30L. I really like the reel and got used to engaging the lever after about 10 casts. It weighs 16.8 ounces and brings in about 35" of line per crank. The double ten I threw came back to me pretty fast and alot faster than my Calcutta 401TE with a power handle. Not having a level wind has not been an issue and the line (80lb Invisabraid) seems to lay down nicely without me guiding it. So far it seems great and I am heading to Cave Run in a couple of weeks and will really get a chance to try it properly but so far so good.
