Location: musky waters , WI		was wondering if any body uses or heard any good or bad things about this reel. Was thinking of getting one for cranking big blades and want some opinions from someone who used one or heard about them

Location: In a shack in the woods		I don't use mine for blades. It's a good reel for everything else. Big rubber I stick with Calcutta and big blades I stick to my torium.

Location: Arbor Vitae, Wi		I have a Revo Toro Winch, it is great for cranking double 10's. I can throw double 10's for 8 hours straight with no shoulder or arm pain & I'm in my 60's.

Is the winch good for burning or just a good steady retrieve? I don't need to wear myself out trying to burn burn burn! Thinking about getting a toro as well, just not sure which series. What would you toro users recommend? I need something for dub 10's.

No question if you are going to throw double 10's with it you want the winch for the lower gearing. Don't get me wrong I threw them on with my toro with 5.4's last year.

it's ok for slow rolling but you will wear yourself out in a hurry trying to burn them. If you want to burn I would suggest one of the many high speed reels on the market.

Think of gear ratios like this 461 means 6 revs turns the spindle 4 times making it less stressfull for large high resistant baits... Where as something like 631 is going to turn the spindle faster but has less power for those bigger baits.

Location: Iowa Great Lakes		Toros are ok for slower retives, if you want to burn them you want a reel with high line pick up like a Salstist or equivelant. Something that picks up 40+" of line per crank.

4.6:1 means one revolution of the handle and spool revolves just a little over 4 1/2 times.

But are the 50 series of the toro as tough and strong as the 60 series? Because i don't understand why i should take the 60. I usualy don't cast any further then 25m... Do the 60 have any other benifits?

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN		Keep in mind that a bigger spool is more than just about line capacity. It will also increase how much line your bring in per crank, even on two reels with identical gear ratios. Cast out 100 feet. Your bigger spool will be fuller than the smaller. The fuller the spool, the more line you'll bring in with each turn.

So there is no reason for taking the bigger heavier 60.

I already have a toro 50HS for my jerkbaitfishing. And I love it. So guess it is a good choice buying the toro winch 50 then for my magdawgs and double's. Some say that the toro 50HS will do them too but I find it hard to believe.

And I still find it a bit hard to believe that the toro winch 50 will outlast my 7000i's.... The difference is so big!

One reason to go with a Revo 60 is to balance out the long rods that are so popular now. I find that a 50 just doesn't balance a 8'6" rod right but that's just me.
