Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | I have an aquaview and like it. Got it hooked up to a miniDVR so I can tape stuff too. I use it more for checking how my lures run but when you see all of the stuff going on down there it makes those long days of not catching anything go fast

Posts: 56 Location: Maplewood, MN | I have an aquaview, same one I use for ice fishing. I don't use it much but when I do, its to look at structure and cover to better understand the spots I'm fishing. As for how far they see... Depends on more than just water clarity, but also wind/water chop and how much the bottom is stirred up by other boat traffic (in shallower areas).

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I use a Cabelas camera. I got the one with the larger 7 inch screen. I know a couple guys with Aqua Views and they both liked my Cabelas camera better. One of the guy replaced his Aqua View with a Cabelas when it died. Nothing wrong with Aqua View or Markum, but if you want to save a few dollars, the Cabelas camera does a pretty good job. It will see just as 'far' as the other cameras will. Some of the really expensive cameras have different lighting systems for using at night. I don't know how much that helps. Anyway, for checking out structure and basic icefishing, I think most of the decent cameras out there will do the job well. curleytail

I am using strictly Aqua-Vu for all of my footage. I have a Sea-Viewer and Aqua-Vu color, and a B&W Aqua-Vu Also. I have lots of sample clips on my home page. www.luresinaction.com Edited by FYGR8 2/2/2010 4:40 PM

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I use a Dell Mini 10, a DXC505V, a PMP, and a couple other units for the Aqua Vu color unit, the Explorer 5 and Explorer 7 units. Keith uses a MarCum 820 and records to a DXG505V. TJ uses a color Aqua Vu and a DXG505V. Any flash recorder with an SD card slot and a video in jack will work for an Aqua Vu or MarCum camera. The Dell Mini 10 records directly on the 160 gig hard drive from a video in array I can customize from my Aqua Vu units and complimentary equipment in full color, B&W, and 30 meter IR, multiple inputs. This set up will also record audio. I sort of 'customized' a couple units.
