| Just curious as to what you guys consider a trophy musky? Is it a certain length, weight, girth measurement or a combination of things? Your thoughts.

| I have always looked at any fish over 45" as a trophy class fish. 48" to most is a pig, and 50" or more a fish of a lifetime. Now that there are replicas, if I was a new muskie angler I would do my first over 48", and ANY over 50".[] |

| I think they are all trophies, but a replica mount would be any fat fish over 48 inches[]

| A client ask me that last week and I told him that the 45 x 17 inch male he just released was a trophy . It was his first fish of the trip. I also told him a 50 inch female would fit in the category so he made sure to catch one of those too on his last hour here. []
I also believe the formula for a true pig is girth > 1/2 the lenght. [:sun:] |

| My dad has a 36# Pike mounted. So I know that a Muskie will have to be larger than that. I want to be the guy that lets a true monster go. I have seen a 55" fish released in my boat, and I would like to let a bigger one go myself. Maybe a replica, but not a skin mount. So I Say................. |
