Anyone have any luck on the suick nitewalker or any other new topwater baits?
Looking to get a few more baits for fishing on top. All info is helpful.

I got a suick nitewalker and raised 3 fish on it throughout the week of 06/05-06/11 didn't get any of them to eat. But i threw the weagle most of the time i was throwing topwater. To me the nitewalker sounds a lot like the topraider.

I really like the Suick Nightwalker... it does sound similar to a TopRaider but for some reason the "plop-plop" noise running on top of the water has a higher pitch to me, if that makes sense? I think it bubbles a bit more than a Topraider, too.

I've caught fish on them. It doesn't have an internal weight to break loose like the topraider, but the screw eye on the belly hook should be expoxied in better (at least on the one I have). Sounds good and covers water quickly.

if your looking for spinning prop topwaters, i like topraiders, mini super humpers, and pacemakers.

My nitewalker seems to be lacking in the sound department. Definately waaayyyyy quieter than a topraider. Anybody ever try to cup the prop or bend it up to improve the sound? I guess I might as well since I don't ever throw it with the way it sounds now.

Either every single one of my TopRaiders is defective (there are six in my tackle box right now) or I have two very obscenely loud Nightwalkers... because they're definitely NOT quieter than my TopRaiders.

In the end, I think it's ultimately a matter of personal preference with the prop-style topwater baits.

My nitewalker was super quiet when I first bought it....had to adjust the tail. Now it's good and loud.

Mark, I finally adjusted mine last night. It was pretty simple. If it's too quiet, bend it forward. If it won't spin, bend it back a little. It sure added some noise to it and I had it throwing quite a bit of water with a nice wake behind it.

I just recently picked up a Lee Lures, Tidal Wave. I have not had a chance to throw it for more than about 10 minutes off a dock, but the sound and amount of water it throws is impressive. Seems to be built like a tank also. Cant wait until I actually get to go out and fish with it!

The Tidal Wave is a real nice bait, his Water Chopper is also a great option.

On Monday I was fishing with Tyrant Tackle Pro-Staffer Kevin Pischke on the Mad Chain and boated a nice 43.5 incher using a prototype Crusader topwater bait. the Crusader is a new tail prop offering from Tyrant and it was the first musky caught on the bait. I spoke to Tilky today and he stated they will be showing up in stores mid-July. The Crusader is very well made with quality components. All Crusaders are made from solid high impact polystyrene with through wire construction and internal balance weight that is attached to the through wire frame so it can’t break loose. Tyrant also uses extra heavy short shank wide gap 5/0 hooks and their #6 & #8 iron fist split rings.

The Crusader rides high in the water yet pushes it nicely and the tail prop makes a great plop plop sound. There are going to be a variety of colors available and this bait I believe will be a consistent producer and a great addition to their already solid line-up. I will try and get a pic posted of the fish and of the Crusaders. Give them a look, you won't be disappointed.

I've been throwing the Tyrant Tackle Crusader prototypes quite a bit lately, great action and solid through wire construction, making them nearly indestructable! My clients and I have had a lot of action on them already this year. Check out www.tryranttackleinc.com for more information on the baits.

seems that another tackle company has been born just to copy other peoples lures.

Steve, the new Crusader is a totally different lure compared to the other company.
1) Solid polystyrene body (not a glued hollow body)
2) Through wire construction (not glued and snapped in hook hangers)
3) Internal weight is attached to through wire, can not break loose
4) Lure will not roll
5) Different tail section
6) Slimmer profile
7) Longer lure
8) Gill slit
9) 3D bubble eyes
10) Triple Clear Coat
11) Tyrant 5/0 short shank hooks
12) Tyrant iron fist split rings
13) Easy to change shrink tubing
14) Different plopping tail noise
15) Sits in the water and goes through the water different (pushes more front water)
16) Stronger wire form
17) Less Expensive

Seems the Muskie Police now are trying to enforce some sort of personal vendetta based anti-capitalism rules via proxy server. Communists, perhaps?

Sometimes a stupid anonymous remark opens the door to explaining why a product is superior to what else is out there. This was one of those times.

Tyrant Crusader, interesting.......it's easy to see the difference in the tail section.....especially how the tail looks like it would give a different plopping noise. Those look good to me. I wasn't going to buy any more lures before I go to Ontario, but if I find these on my way (July 15th), I'll have to have one....or two.

I'm not sure what it is, but I seem to like what I see about Tyrant lures. I started by buying a Tyrant jerkbait. Then, I became interesting in the Czar, which after waiting a few months, I bought a few. Those look really good to me. Now, here is the top water.......oh yea, it may look like a topraider, but look closer, this lure looks much better, especially the tail section, which is what interests me. Hey, if I can find one on my way on July 15th, I'll be fishing it for a couple of weeks.
