| We'll it's about half way through the season, and how's your year going so far?
For me I had a great May and a slow June and July for muskie. I need to spend less time on Lake Michigan and more time on Pewaukee! |
| |
| Not too bad so far. Only fishing one day a week most of the time. 15 in the boat, nine are mine. I had started a summer slump untill last saturday, hopefully that ended it. Only four fishless trips and wouldn't you know it, two of those were my only illinois trips. |

| I cant wait tell fall.......This selling and buying houses in the middle of summer is for the birds.....even better when a baby is on the way..[;)]
I have only had time to stick 7 muskies this year...hopefully in the fall I might be able to get on the water more then three times a month...[:blackeye:] |

| Well, What can I say.... or do? The furry little critter is still in my boat! Been working real hard this week to shoo it away, but all for naught. Seen 4 fish caught the past three days. Getting kinda depressing. Back at it with Mark H. next week. Maybe he'll bring me some luck?
Jason, evidently the boat ride last night didn't encourage the soon-to-be new one to make an appearance?

| Very slow May and June, but July has been really good. Biggest only 43", but many missed chances at very large fish have been had. I'm also sitting at 7 fish, but should have about 20 with 3 pushing 50+![:blackeye:] |

| No Skis yet but then I have only been out once or twice ( I like to fish Skis in the Fall )however in two weeks I am heading for the NW Angle and from the reports I've been reading it should be a good time.
Baitfishing on the otherhand has been real good it seems that the LM Bass and Crappies are on steroids this year

| Best year ever. Plenty of time on the water, lots more action (and fish in the boat) than in previous years. Bone Lake Outing with my kid was a blast, and the Fall Monter Outing on Cass waits like a big ass present sitting quietly under the Christmas tree. Knocked out of the MF Match fishing in the first round, but only because good old Ralph Florio on Team Slime caught more inches than my two fish so that's ok. This is the first year I've avoided multi-species fishing to concentrate only on muskies.
Honestly, I credit much of my success and fun to all the new stuff I've learned by being an active member of this Board.

| It's been a strange year for me so far. Not seeing a large amount of follows but am getting a fair amount of hookups. Even after taking nearly the whole month of July off from chasing skis, my numbers are better than last year. I am averaging a fish every 14 hours, eight in the boat so far with my biggest, a 46", coming last night. |

| LOTS.... and I mean LOTS.... of BAD luck this year for me. Contacted many fish this year, wrestled with many of them, and lost. Most lost fish have been aggressive hitters that never get stung or hang on for about 2 headshakes before spittin' the bait. Just plain strange.
Toss in a variety of boat problems and I begin to get high blood pressure. I haven't had a boat for the past two weeks and am beginning to get a little unstable[] Thank god I don't work for the post office (did you catch that one spongy?).
Hopefully as the weather cools down, the fishing will get HOT and change my luck. All I need is one BIG fish and my attitude will change[:p] |

| Hang in there Shep!
I hear talk of a new Ranger?
If I were you I would look into a Tuffy!
Keep at it they will come![;)] |
| |
| I'm having a great year. 21 fish for me, 23 in the boat total, including my girlfriends first. 2 49's, and I've missed/lost 4 over 50. Now if the river would just cooperate and clear up I can get back at it. |
| |
| ONLY 5 FISH FOR ME WITH 3 OF THEM BEING 43 OR BIGGER.
ILL ADD TO THAT TOTAL THIS WEEKEND ON TONKA.
HAPPY HUNTING
DUCK |

| One word......... GREAT
I need to send most of you guys some of my mojo.
I will hopefully find the time to create a 2002 photo page on my web site next week, I have more then enough big fish pics to fill it up. [:p] |

| GREAT!!!! 33 for me....all cut out of magazines + caught w/ a dab of Elmers Glue on the end of a piece of string...some caught 5 or 6 times![:blackeye:] |
| |
| Oh Porous One, You really must teach me your technique! How about a chat session on the Elmer's presentation! I'm sure you'd have a packed house.
Bill, who's talking new Ranger? As much as I wanted to, I just couldn't afford a Tuffy 1760 this year, much less a Ranger. That's why I got the new Lund Angler SS. Got the ESOX stickers made up for it, and just as soon as I finish the rear deck extension, and properly slime it, they'll go on. Then it will be a real Lund Esox Angler SS.[:p] I'm going to keep at it. I know it's only a matter of time. Had thoughts of hauling out the old Tuffy, but sooner or later, I will get bit good.
Now, about that glue. Elmer's white, or the waterproof wood glue?[]

| My year has been great for being a weekend southern fisherman. This spring was slow for quanity, but we caught a lot more quality fish. So far, the boat has around 70 fish over 30" to the credit, with five being over 48". We also picked up a bunch of shorties. I personally have boated 35 legals, while my usual partner has 20. I cant wait for the fall.

| My year has been terrible so far with only one fish boated and that was 30". I have had over 30 follows and a few get off as well. I'd like to blame my lake for my failure, but in reality I have no idea what I'm doing. I know I'll do better in fall, but have no idea what to do in the meantime. I didnt' start catching fish til fall last year (my first year). |

| Shep, when paper musky fishing the air quality determines the glue hue...white for heavy discolored air + the clear waterproof glue for clear air. A piece of cardboard attached to the back of the fish adds weight but adds to the glue(hook) set time...allow the paper fish time to swallow the glue before tugging on the kite string. to add realism, partially fill a tupperware bowl w/ gravel for some rock fishing....sand makes for some great bar fishing + grass clippings take on the appearance of a shallow weedbed. I'm now experimenting w/ 2 part epoxy, baling wire + a nut pick in hopes of finding a copy of he epic tale of Moby Dick![:0] [:sun:]
* Lol Jason...try the above until the boat is ready! |
| |
| Not too shabby. 38 fish for me so far, and 56 in the boat total(partners and I). Better overall average than most years and more fish over 45 than any year I've been musky fishing. |
